La Parrilla Taqueria in Swansboro

Updated:Never had an issue with this place. Today, however the order came out wrong twice. Not a big deal, they are quick to correct it. The issue with today's food was a bug in the silverware...of the roach family. I'm not one who cares about the creepy crawlers, but the wife does. When she's not happy no one is. First clue should have been there 91% sanitation rating. Good food, cheap, and good service...but the mental headache of possible bugs in the food not worth it. California Burrito, tacos, and Mexican pizza is what I recommend.Previous:Best Mexican food in North Carolina! Great service, great price and great food. Even offer delivery! This little place always is busy but is well worth it! Great family atmosphere and always friendly!

Comes with THREE amazing salsas! Without asking! Food is absolutely incredible and authentic and when you ask for cheese dip you don’t get your tiny little over priced bowl like other places here in swansboro.. you get a giant bowl. I am super impressed with this place!

BEST IN TOWN!!! I've been to almost all the Mexican restaurants around: La Parilla, Las Fincas, El Zarape, Plaza Mexico.... This is hands down the best place. I got the chorizo California burrito and 2 chorizo tacos. As amazing as it gets. Perfect. Hidden gem. GO HERE NOW!!! not even kidding. Worth it.Edit: This place doesn't exist anymore as of Thursday. New place is called El Cerro and it's ok, but a little more expensive than La Parrilla

Food was ok mexican though the temales was all corn with a smidge of meat...

I try not to be a harsh critic because everyone has a bad night. But nothing was good. First a small roach on the wall. That can happen so over looked that. Server was sweet but no attentive. 3 types of salsa was nice but chips were stale. Food was terrible, cheese was cheap cheddar on my fajitas nachos. Not sure what eating liquid plastic tastes like but I think I did it. Wound up just eating the meat and vegetables. Sad we had a good meal a year ago. We won't be back.

My husband and I love this place. We have been coming here once a week for the past few months and the service is always great, the food is amazing and the bathroom is always clean. It has became our favorite Mexican restaurant around.

Had this food today and was pretty good. The California burritos were spot on. They didn't have the flavor of Jarritos that we wanted but we settled. The food was delivered exactly on the time window that was told to me on the phone and the gentleman was pleasant and made the transaction that much better. The portion sizes could be a tad bit bigger. I was expecting to be able to share the asada fruits but it was really not possible. The fried ice cream was amazing though and definitely worth it.

Sucked in every way. Margarita was too much. They used table salt for the rim. Food small portion for price. Could have gotten a much better meal for a more reasonable price elsewhere!!!!

Relatively new to this area and had the worst experience tonight! Be careful while eating at Las Fincas in Swasboro! Alive ROACH was on my food tonight!! Absolutely AWFUL. Not to even mention the service was just as bad. Shut this place down so no one else has to discover this on there own!!!!!!!

I haven't had any problems with this restaurant, but other that have came with me have had some food problems. Food good and pretty fresh and the prices are really good on everything

The food here was excellent! We enjoyed our meal and the service. It is a little bit out of the way and can't be seen from the main road but there wasnt a crowd or wait. And did I mention the food was awesome! Will definitely go back when we visit next year.

Great food, great queso, great salsa. I ordered wings and tacos and both were awesome, the tacos were slot better than anywhere else I've tried, and I've tried everything in Jacksonville and swansboro. Great service and they offer a military/senior citizen discount.

The was one of the worst Mexican Restaurant I have ever attempted to eat at. Salsa was more soup then anything else. Same for the guacamole soupy. Ordered steak tacos received Pork tacos. and still had no flavor. Sent everything back and left.

Smelled great from outside. House made salsas are a big plus but, start with the mild one if you don't like heat. Flavors of the food were good but the meats were way over cooked. I don't want my strips of chicken & beef to be crunchy. Didn't notice the health inspection rating until after we'd eaten. It was either an 81 or 83 point something. This place also offers delivery.

Was looking for something to eat around this area while my car was in shop. It’s honestly a hidden gem. I’m from California, and my standards are pretty high when it comes to authentic Mexican food. Being in N.C. for 4 years has lead me to think there’s hardly any good food in general around these parts, ESPECIALLY Mexican food. I ordered the carrnita tacos. And I was not disappointed! They were amazing! I’m so happy I found this little spot! Definitely recommending this to my fellow Californians that are stuck here and miss California style Mexican food. Not Tex mex. lol

The food was great and the prices even better.

The chips and salsa were really good. The menu had a great selection of food. The food tasted amazing. The rice and refried beans tasted freshly made unlike most restraunts were they are reheated. I would go back just for the rice itself. Really friendly staff.

People was rude to us cause I was not waring a mask. We did not stay.

Food was great but service was even better. My 2 year old was being fussy and the waitress was so kind to him and even brought him a toy to play with. We always like to come here then go play at the nearby park. Highly recommended

This was some of the worst Mexican food I have had in this area. There salsa was like pureed tomatoes and very little flavor. I definitely would not go back there again.

Been eating here since they opened. The food is always perfect. Lilly was my waitress, she was attentive, knowledgeable and on point with drinks and decent conversation. The place is kept spotless and housemade salsa, chips, andand tortill are absolutely delicious. If you love true Mexican food this is the place for you. My personal favorite is the Fajita Texana. I recommend this place to everyone I know.

Their burritos are good, but I can’t read their online menu so that’s 3 stars off. If I can’t read the menu I can’t get the food 😳

Torn between what to really put... The food was excellent and our server was absolutely amazing. But the wait time was awful! We we're told after 20 minutes of waiting for our food that it would be even longer. Apparently to go orders come before dine-in customers... We watched at least two customers come and order their food and receive their orders before we got ours. So if they could fix that, then that would be great!

Waitress was great, I'd give her 5 stars, but unfortunately the food was okay, nothing super good. The menu I felt was very limited even when it came to tacos which for the name of the restaurant doesn't make sense. I actually had difficulties choosing something because of it and felt that I just settled for what I could find. The kids menu only has one thing that is not American food which I also felt limited the menu since it's a Mexican restaurant. I don't think we will be going back out this place as there are so many better options in the area.
